Brian Taylor was named General Manager of CDE Lightband in September 2012.  Taylor’s focus has been on maintaining low affordable rates while providing the highest level of system reliability and customer service.  Under his leadership CDE Lightband has continued to make advancements with its broadband services; offering Video, telephone and Gigabit Internet service.

Taylor began his career with CDE Lightband in May 1982 as Manager of Information Technology.  He was promoted in 2008 to Vice President of Business Services, where he was responsible for all energy services, billing, and metering activities.

Taylor believes it is important to give back to the community.  He serves on the boards of; the Distributors Insurance Company, Tennessee Fiber Optic Communities, Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association, Past President of the Montgomery County Education Foundation, and President of the Tennessee Municipal Electric Power Association. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce Business Development Committee, a graduate of Leadership Clarksville and Leadership Middle Tennessee and past president of the Central District Managers Association.  Taylor has served as past president of the Central Civitan Club and Lt. Governor of Valley District Civitan.  He has also served on the United Way Budget and Allocations Committee.

Taylor holds an Advanced Certified Power Executive Certification through the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Bethel College and an Associate’s degree in Computer Science from Nashville State.

Taylor married his high school sweetheart, Kim. Together they have two sons, Brad and Kyle; and two grandson, Timothy and Oliver.
