Eastern Telephone & Technologies
Darrell Maynard is currently President of Eastern Telephone & Technologies in Pikeville, KY. He attended Michigan Technological University, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Maynard began his entrepreneurial career in 1976 starting with an Electrical Contracting company which was merged into Eastern in 2011. Eastern was founded in 1981 and the company rapidly grew by providing commercial telephone systems and computer service to businesses throughout the Eastern Kentucky region.
In June of 1995, with the support of a small group of investors, he launched SouthEast Telephone and guided its direction as President and CEO until 2011. SouthEast Telephone was founded as a result of the 1996 Telecommunications Act and provided local telephone service and Internet to rural Kentucky Customers. In ten years, SouthEast Telephone had the achieved the distinction of being the first Competitive Telephone company in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as well as one of Commonwealth’s largest locally owned Rural Service Providers.
In 2012, Maynard returned to Eastern Telephone & Technologies to reinvent its vision, expanding into all things IP.
His corporate philosophy is about customer loyalty, which he believes is achieved by “Giving the Customer a Great Experience at every point of contact within the company that will cause the Customer to pro-actively recommend their products and services to their Friends and Families.”
He has three children and currently resides in Raccoon Kentucky (Pike County) with his wife Brenda.
